DIY Decorative Pen Holder | By Phyllis

by Sticky Kit |

I don’t know about you, but I am always looking for a good DIY hack to help me with everyday items that I use. This month, I am sharing with you a cute pen holder to keep on your desk, and it also has little pockets for stickers and notecards. I am using the gorgeous “Starry Nights”themed Sticky Kit from August. The beautiful foiling on the tapes and stickers really help decorate the pen holder in a nice way!

To start, you will need your Sticky Kit from this month, glue tape, and some cardstock.

Fold your cardstock into thirds to make a triangular tube. Leave a little extra room on one end so that it can fold over and overlap to connect with the other side. Next, unfold the cardstock and fold up partway so that you have created a little pocket. I also added a separate sheet from the Sticky Kit envelope so that there would be two pocket layers.

Now, fold your cardstock back into the triangular tube shape and seal it off with glue tape. You can also add a bottom closure to your tube by tracing out a triangle shape (again, making sure to leave extra room for overlap) and glue it to the bottom. In the end, you will have something that looks like this:

It may look messy now, but this is where the décor comes in! Use your washi tape to cover up any of the messy edges on your pen holder. You can also use stickers, markers, paint, yarn, etc. to spice up the look of your pen holder! I created a wavy border at the top of my pen holderusing the “Aurora” tape by Mind Wave. Once you are done, you can add items into the pockets.I chose to put a sticker sheet and a notecard from the Sticky Kit package into the pockets, and I added some Avril yarn for decoration, and a mini clothespin clip as well.

I hope this DIY pen holder is a useful addition to your desk! Feel free to tag me on Instagram with your DIY pen holders! I’m always happy to answer any questions about this month’s kit orthe DIY project.

Have fun!
